Nuvaring is a flexible ring (approximately 2" in diameter) inserted into the vagina once a month to prevent pregnancy. Nuvaring releases a constant amount of estrogen and progesterone into the body throughout your cycle. The estrogen and progestin are then absorbed and distributed into your bloodstream, working together to prevent your ovaries from producing mature eggs. The Nuvaring is 98% to 99% effective birth control.
