I am surprised that you did not more diligently research the topic of "Natural Birth Control." The Rhythm and Standard day method were used long ago, but they are about as viable as the withdrawal method. There are several scientifically based methods of natural birth control that are not only effective, but are extremely useful in giving the woman a look into the workings of her body. Two of the most popular are the Billings Ovulation Method and the Sympto-Thermal Method. Both methods work by the woman making observations of her body and recording for each day of the cycle. In doing this she can learn to tell when ovulation will occur and act accordingly. Not only are these as effecive as other forms of birth control, they also have an extremely high succes rate for couples wishing to get pregnant, and most importantly, because the hormones that control the menstrual cycle are contrlled by the pituitary the woman is able to notice when her cycle is abnormal and consult a doctor if it is becoming consistantly abnormal. This early detection of bodily changes can save lives, I have a friend who noticed a new pattern in her cycle, approached her OB/GYN with months worth of data and the caught her cancer in a very early stage and she is now cancer free. Please do research next time instead of using common misconceptions on which to base a "factual" article.
