About Nordette 28 day

Nordette, is used as an oral contraception to prevent pregnancy. It contains two hormones: levonorgestrel and ethinyl estradiol. Nordette can also be used to achieve more regular menstrual cycles and to clear moderate to severe acne.

Nordette is available in a 16 week box containing 4 blister packs. A blister pack contains 21 yellow hormone tablets and 7 red non-hormonal tablets. Each blister pack is marked with day so fthe week ext to each tablet. The female hormones prevents ovulation (release of an egg from an ovary). NORDETTE thickens your cervical mucus and uterine lining to stop any movement of sperm. The cervical mucus acts as a backup to prevent pregnancy even if an egg is released.

If taken correctly on a daily basis, NORDETTE is as much as 99% effective in preventing pregnancy, but there is still a 1% chance that you could get pregnant. Furthermore, missing a pill or taking a pill a few hours later than normal can decrease the effectiveness. Certain medications like antibiotics are also known to increase the chance of your birth control pill failing.
